Australian actor Heath Ledger, who received critical acclaim for his role in "Brokeback Mountain" was found dead in his SoHo apartment this afternoon. The actor, who recently completed work on the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight," was found unconscious in his bedroom by a housekeeper. A police spokesperson reports that foul play is not suspected in the actor's death and that pills were found in Ledger's bedroom. Ledger was 28 and is survived by his daughter with actress Michelle Williams, Matilda Rose.

A pooped Whitney Houston arrived at LAX last night, en route to her Atlanta home. The diva was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she performed at the Live and Loud concert. It was Whitney's first stage appearance in quite some time. The singer took the stage in front of over 10,000 people and sang her hits, including "Saving All My Love." Daughter Bobbi even joined her mother on stage for a song (a diva in training?) Whitney is planning to head to the studio to record an album to be released next year.
Whitney's back! Even though her performance received mixed reviews, we will always love her!

Who knew Jeremy Piven was such an environmentalist? The "Entourage" star and an unidentified lady friend dined at Fred Segal in L.A. on Saturday. After dinner, they retreated to Jeremy's new ride - a gasoline/electric hybrid BMW. Maybe Jeremy is doing reserach for his next project; he's playing a (most likely unscrupulous) used car liquidator in "The Goods: The Don Ready Story," co-starring Tony Hale (Buster from "Arrested Development.")
Unfortunately for Jeremy, he will probably have an entourage of one for a while. The fate of his HBO comedy series is uncertain due to the fact that only a few scripts for the new season were completed before the writers' strike.

As if we needed an excuse to post a photo of the devilishly handsome Daniel Craig, the latest actor to portray super spy James Bond, was a winner at last night's British Independent Film Awards. Daniel was the recipient of the Variety (as in the Hollywood trade magazine) Award. The award salutes actors for raising the profile of British films in the international spotlight. Previous winners include Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley and the (equally dreamy) Ewan McGregor.
Daniel's gearing up for the next Bond film, and we're hoping it includes another swimsuit scene!

If they ever decide to do a remake of "The Seven Year Itch" (and I hope they never do!), Sarah Jessica Parker can step right into Marilyn's shoes. The actress was filming a scene on location at the NYC public library and was not only experiencing this "wardrobe malfunction," but was also having a hard time holding onto her hat. The "Sex"-y ladies have been filming all around the Big Apple for the much anticpated film, scheduled for release in May of '08.
It's a good thing this story didn't involve Kim Cattrall, it's doubtful that Samantha wears underpants!
