Hugh Jackman For Jacob Black

The "mature face," the experience of having already played a character with some variation of "wolf" in his name, the bod.  How is it that Hugh Jackman was never even in the running to fill the role of buffed-up Jacob Black in New Moon?  (We are kidding, of course.)

Jackman was busy doing other non-Twilight supernatural things yesterday.  The actor appeared to have rescruffified for his titular role in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine.  Reshoots, perhaps?
