Mariah Carey, Eco-Warrior

Tim K: 04/21/2008 5:52 PM
Some people have accused porpoise-voiced chanteuse Mariah Carey of being a diva. But as evidenced by the outfit she wore to a radio appearance in New York today, beneath her tiny-but-icy exterior lies the heart of an environmental maverick.

Note how Carey does her part to preserve the world's dwindling denim supply by wearing shorts that use as little of the endangered material as possible. Likewise, she surely saved some cow's hide on a literal level by opting for a cropped leather jacket.

And it looks like her sartorial plea for more modest consumption is catching on. Just look at how that gentleman can't help but reach out and admiringly touch her shorts. Way to spread the word, girl!

The cynics and haters out there will probably claim that Carey's clothes are the result of her desire to project a sexy image more than anything. But–duh!–she's going to a radio appearance. No one's going to be able to see her, dummies.

Some people can be so dense.
