On Monday we reported that Paris had been making the rounds with a vaguely monastic accomplice. Along with many others, we wondered if perhaps she had accidentally stumbled onto the path to self-awareness.
Well, as it turns out, the seeming spiritual guide was part of a staged prank for Ashton Kutcher's new series, Pop Fiction. The faux mystic is actually Maxie Santillan Jr., an aspiring actor who's appeared on CSI and My Name Is Earl.
Huh; leave it to Paris to put the "ho" in "hoax."
According to the show's co-producer, Jason Goldberg, the program will address "a culture that's driven by media and obsessed with celebrity, to the point where they don't have private lives anymore."
Goldberg adds that about 20 celebrities are participating, each with similar pranks.
