The singer whose midsection does not fib, Shakira, and her hunky boyfriend Antonio del la Rua celebrated the holidays with a romantic Italian getaway. The pair did the "tourist thing" and hired a guide to take in all of the sights of the ancient city of Rome, including the Pantheon and the Forum ruins. Shakira took oodles of photos and took time out to admire the finely sculpted tush of one Italian sculpture. She's quite an authority on that topic - her tush is well-sculpted too!

Forget Britney and Lindsay - the original bad girl is back! Courtney Love and her entourage arrived at LAX on Saturday night after a visit to NYC which was notable for the theft - and subsequent return - of 2 pairs of Courtney's earrings worth around $100K. The singer, looking a little worse for wear, hid behind over-sized shades and tried to obscure her face from photographers as she made her way through the terminal. Is it just me, or does Courtney look like an older version of Mary Kate Olson nowadays? Take heed, MK - this could be you in about 20 years!

Violet Affleck, who was recently voted the cutest celebrity baby in a Parade.com poll (over Suri Cruise and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt) is already making sure she looks good for the photographers. It's not all shopping and eating out for celeb best friends Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale - although they're young, they have to maintain their shapely figures. Parents and kids also went bowling with real life "Mighty Heart" Marianne Pearl and her son Adam. (I can’t see Angelina bowling, can you?) A very pregnant Jennifer Lopez stepped out and did some holiday shopping, spending three hours browsing the aisles of frou-frou Barney's department store in New York City. The actress, who is five months preggers with twins, looked fabulous in a grey maternity coat and was mobbed by photographers and autograph seekers as she made her way into the store. Three hours of shopping? That's approximately 90 minutes per baby - I admire her stamina!

Still-gorgeous supermodel Cindy Crawford manages to look glam coming off a flight from LA to New York yesterday with hubby Rande Gerber. In a recent interview, Cindy says she's much happier with her looks now then when she was in her modeling hey-day in the 90s, because she has to work harder than she used to to maintain her appearance. She says even she has "fat days" and says, "I don't want to have to be beautiful all the time. I want to be able to look cruddy in my weekend sweats, with a pimple on my face and pimple cream on top of the pimple. The expectation to be beautiful always bothers me." I feel your pain, Cindy!

Denzel was in the Big Apple last night for the east coast premiere of his new film "The Great Debaters" with other members of the young ensemble cast including Denzel Whitaker, son of actor/director Forest Whitaker and Jurnee Smollett. The film, set in 1935, tells the inspirational - and true - story of a group of African-American college students who form a debate team and compete against Harvard students. Denzel plays their professor and mentor. I wish I had professors who looked like that when I was in college - I may have actually gone to class!

Mom-to-be Jessica Alba won't let a little thing like pregnancy get in the way of her shopping. The actress was dressed in black from head-to-toe; and her emerging baby bump was obscured by her long coat. The girl can accessorize - I covet her hat and oversized purse! Jessica hit Gucci and Dior on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills (Does Dior make maternity wear? I'll bet Gucci makes an awesome baby bag!) and attracted a swarm of photographers. Jess needed a police escort to get through the sea of flashbulbs. Get used to it, Jessica - we love our mommies-to-be!

Shopping for Two.
The nominees for the 2007 Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced in Los Angeles this morning, by the completely random pairing of Terence Howard and Jeanne Tripplehorn. Sean Penn's "Into the Wild" led the nominations with 4. Sean's film joins "3:10 to Yuma", "American Gangster:, "Hairspray" and "No Country for Old Men" as nominees for best ensemble cast. Nominated actors include Viggo Mortensen, George Clooney and Daniel Day-Lewis and nominated actresses include Cate Blanchett (up for best actress and best supporting actress), Angelina Jolie and newcomer Ellen Page ("Juno"). Noticeably absent from the nominees were "Sweeney Todd" and "Atonement" - both of which were Golden Globe nominees.
The awards, which are voted on by the actors, will be handed out on January 27.

Paparazzi favorite Britney Spears was driving around LA last night (when isn't she driving around LA?) and was caught by photographers as she stopped at a red light. Hey, at least she stopped! The singer's every move has been well-documented as of late, but now her pregnant little sister Jamie Lynn is the big news story. Brit, wearing a trendy hat - and thankfully not that awful pink wig - remained mum on the subject and said nothing to her adoring paps. Britney's going to have to teach her little sis how to deal with the press, as they're sure to be tracking her every move for the next 6 months!

West Hollywood mall The Grove is bustling with celebrity shoppers this holiday season! Yesterday, actress Patricia Heaton was spotted doing some last-minute shopping with a male companion. Patricia, whose new sitcom "Back to You" was picked up for a full season, enjoyed lunch at Morel's (and took home a doggie bag) and had some laughs with her friend. I really like her black patterned coat. Feel free to pick me up one of those for Christmas, Patricia!

Emmy-winning actress Jaime Pressly is keeping busy, despite the writers' strike that halted production on her show, "My Name is Earl." The former model recently topped an In Style magazine list of super slim moms (it took her 6 weeks to drop her baby weight after giving birth to son Dezi in July). In between workouts, Jaime was caught gassing up her black Lincoln Navigator (a big vehicle for such a teeny girl!) and heading to the downtown LA offices of her clothing line, J'aime. I wonder if the cute blue track suit she's wearing is from her collection?

This years "sexiest man alive" - according to People magazine anyway - Matt Damon and his family headed out on a holiday vacation from LAX yesterday. Matt, wife Luciana Barroso and 18-month-old daughter Isabella arrived at the airport in a chauffeured SUV, complete with car seat (responsible parenting - how refreshing!). Matt and his family negotiated their way through security and the handsome actor managed to get some smiles out of his fellow travelers. I know if I saw Matt Damon anywhere, I'd definitely be smiling!

The Bourne Vacation.
Singer and ever-aspiring actress Jessica Simpson is spending Christmas in Dallas, so she can be close to her new beau, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Jess rented a house in the Texas city and has been spotted around town with her family - including Papa Joe - at local restaurants and some of the city's high-end retail destinations. If I were Jess, I'd lay low in Dallas, as she's not a fan favorite - or a team one for that matter. Tony's teammate Terrell Owens told reporters that Jess is causing Tony to lose focus (he played the worst game of his career last week) and has a "message" for her if the team makes the playoffs (Go away? Stay home? Break up?).

Victoria Beckham doesn't need a coat or a jacket, or any protective clothing to stay warm - well, maybe some gloves...but that's it! Her hotness is all she needs to brave the winter in London. It's been up to a balmy 45 degrees in jolly old England the past few days, but Posh sacrifices warmth for the sake of fashion as she knows she's going to be photographed in her native country if she even pokes one foot out of a building. Posh hasn't had much time for shopping since she's been on tour with the Spice Girls, so she took some time to visit some London boutiques to satisfy her retail cravings - clad only in a skimpy minidress and teeny cardigan. Here's a little something for all of you sci-fi fans out there. David Tennant was in character as Dr. Who for a special screening of the "Dr. Who Christmas Special" at London's Science Museum. Many of the show's stars and alumni showed up for the screening - we're not sure if David showed up in the tardis or not! The new special, entitled "Voyage of the Damned" takes place on the ill-fated Titanic and co-stars Kylie Minogue as one of the ship's waitresses. The special is set to air in the UK on Christmas, no air date has been announced for the US as of yet. Guess that's a little coal in your stocking, if you're a "Dr. Who" fan!

Christmas in "Who-ville".
Nicole Kidman has been on her share of red carpets, but none was as important to her as the one she walked last night, during a special screening of "The Golden Compass" for the patients of Sydney Children's Hospital and their families. Nicole, who has been an ambassador for the hospital for 6 years, screened "Happy Feet" for the kids last year and joked around with the kids because she's an icy villainess in this year's film instead of a cute but chilly penguin. The kids were very excited to meet the star, who looked beautiful in a little black dress and matching pumps. The benevolent actress is hoping to bring her epic "Austraila" to these kids next year.

Nicole's Heart is Golden.
Will Smith, still on the promotional trail for "I Am Legend," hit England yesterday. The always nattily-dressed Will looked particularly "fresh" as he flashed a peace sign to photographers and fans as he retreated inside London's Dorchester Hotel. "I Am Legend" is breaking box office records in the US - it had the biggest December opening ever, beating out such blockbusters as "King Kong" and all three "Lord of the Rings" films - and it's sure to be an international hit as well. No wonder Will's got such a big smile on his face!

While her celebrity counterparts are doing their Christmas shopping or relaxing in some tropical paradise while on vacation, Jennifer Aniston seems to be the only celebrity actually getting things done this holiday season. The actress had a busy day of errands in LA on Tuesday, including a visit to her agents, Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, finishing off at the Sunset Towers Hotel. Jen had on jeans and a cute cropped trench coat and carried around a holiday bag, an Apple MacBook Pro and a bottle of Smart Water, for which she is a celebrity spokeswoman. With all of that running around, it's no wonder she's so slim!

Simon Cowell is one busy man, even on vacation. He and his long-time girlfriend, "Extra" correspondent Terri Seymour, jetted off to Barbados after Simon wrapped another season of the British talent competition "X Factor" (Sometimes we forget that England had him first!). The guy can't sit still - he strolled the beach and zipped along the shore on a jet ski. After the holidays, it's back to work for the media mogul (Britain's highest paid television star) - the new season of "American Idol" debuts on January 15.
It looks like we won't be seeing Simon's man-boobs in his tight t-shirts anymore - he looks quite buff! He must have gotten tired of the ribbing...and the McRibs!

Jenna Fischer, who appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" yesterday to promote her new film, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," was mobbed by fans and photographers as she left the studio. One fan came all the way from Scranton, Pa. (the setting of her show, "The Office") with a Christmas gift for the actress. Ok, Scranton to New York City isn't a major trip, but the kid is so sweet-looking, isn't he? Jenna looked cute (as always) in a beige sweater, dark pants and a fuzzy green coat (which she holiday-ized with a festive reindeer pin. You know that's totally something her character Pam would do!).
"Walk Hard" opens Friday, so all of you who miss "The Office" (like me) can get your "Pam fix!"

Remember when everywhere you turned, Colin Farrell was there? It's been a while since this hunky Irish actor has been at our local cineplex, but he was spotted in NYC on Tuesday, outside of the Sixty Thompson Hotel chatting on a cell phone. Colin's in the Big Apple for the premiere of "Cassandra's Dream", starring Colin (and Ewan McGregor. Sigh.) and directed by Woody Allen. The 31-year-old actor took some time off and is ready to get back to work (he turned down a role in the critically-acclaimed Bob Dylan movie "I'm Not There" - Heath Ledger took over for him - because he was in rehab).
A cleaned-up bad boy? Can Colin pull this off? Looking at this picture, yes, most definitely. He's still got those bad boy good looks!

Where Have You Been, Colin?.
Troubled singer and snack food aficionado Amy Winehouse was arrested yesterday in connection with the case against her jailed hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil. Amy's attorneys escorted her to England's Shoreditch Police Station where she was questioned on a charge of "perverting the course of justice." Police suspect she interfered with the court case against her husband. Blake is currently incarcerated under the same charge; he and a mate assaulted a bar manager and tried to bribe him to not report the crime and leave the country.
According to Amy's reps, the singer was not formally charged and was released on bail, pending further investigation. You know, jail might be a good thing for Amy, even better than rehab - and at least she'd be able to see her hubby more often!

A meeting at Sony Studios in Culver City led to another Starbucks stop and some lunch. R&B superstar Rihanna shows her contemporaries the proper way to exit a vehicle to avoid any accidental (and embarrassing) exposure. The singer arrived at the Amika nightclub in London Saturday night and exited her vehicle quite gracefully. She managed to keep her clingy violet minidress in place before heading into the club. Rihanna complemented the dress with fishnet stockings and black high heels. Maybe she's wearing matching undies, maybe she's not, but we don't know (and are kind of glad we don't - the element of mystery is always sexy!).

Marcia Cross and her husband were spotted crossing some items off their Christmas list while browsing down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills over the weekend. The casually dressed, color-coordinated couple picked up some gifts at Williams-Sonoma, Banana Republic and other boutiques Marcia does have oodles of time to shop and enjoy her first Christmas with twin daughters Eden and Savannah; her show's forced hiatus has afforded her extra time to be with her family, which is the best gift Marcia could ask for!

Nicole glittered on the red carpet in a satiny silver Balenciaga suit - wouldn't it have been more appropriate if she wore a metallic gold suit? The premiere brought out Nicole's parents, Anthony and Janelle, and over 1,000 Aussie fans who braved the rain to get a glimpse of their golden girl. Jack Nicholson, looking dapper as always (and so much better since his hair grew back) walked the red carpet for the premiere of "The Bucket List" - the film he sacrificed his locks for (while scaring millions of Academy Award viewers in the process) - at LA's Arclight Cinema last night. The film tells the story of two terminally ill men (Jack and Morgan Freeman) who befriend each other in the hospital and venture off together on a road trip to do everything they wanted to do before they pass on. Sean Hayes (another Jack!) and Rob Morrow were among the film's other stars on hand for the premiere. Terminal illness and death...just in time for Christmas!

Today's "weary traveler at LAX" spotting comes to us courtesy of Latin singing sensation Ricky Martin. The former Menudo singer, who turns 36 on Monday, was seen heading through airport security on Saturday, looking a little worse for wear. Come on, he's been...ummm...busy? Brad Pitt, in his (now trademark) newsboy cap and shades, braved the chilly NYC temperatures to visit "Live with Regis and Kelly." The actor, who turns 44 tomorrow, was in town to discuss his latest project - not a mega-blockbuster film, but "Make It Right," the charity organization he founded to raise funds to help the displaced citizens of New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward, who lost everything after Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005. Benevolent Brad has pledged $5 million to help rebuild the area with affordable, eco-friendly homes. Brad pre-taped his segment promoting this initiative, which will air on "Live" next Monday. Brad and a morning cup of coffee, now that's a welcome early Christmas present!

Comic actor Brad Garrett isn't a wanker, but his t-shirt seems to indicate otherwise. The "'Til Death" star took his dog out for a stroll in Malibu Friday, where Brad stopped to pick up a paper and chatted with some neighborhood folks. Brad's dog didn't display any temperamental star attitude either and socialized with another pooch. Happy birthday, Vanessa Hudgens! The "High School Musical" star celebrated her 19th birthday yesterday. She celebrated by bringing her mother along with her as she made a stop at the John Sudol acting school (Acting lessons? If I say "It's about time!" is that mean?). Photographers waiting outside for her to emerge pooled their money together and bought Vanessa a huge bouquet of flowers. And the paparazzi gets such a bad rap! Kudos, guys! The hot party invitation in London last night was to Matthew Freud's Christmas shindig. Freud is the head of an international public relations agency. There seemed to be more stars heading into this party than there were in the English sky. Former Prime Minister Tony Blair joined Mick Jagger, Sting, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and...Kelly Osbourne to celebrate the season. The guest I was most excited to see - Chef Gordon Ramsay! Oh God, I hope all of the hors d'oeuvres were cooked to perfection (I could just imagine Gordon running into the kitchen with an expletive-laden rant about how the mini-quiches had been previously frozen!).

Is it just me, or is Kelly Osbourne looking cuter lately? She was spotted dining on sushi at Nobu in London with her new beau, Matt Emerson, a drummer for the band Trash Fashion. Kelly wore a short black dress with matching tights and knee high boots - which she alternated with red heels with a black lace overlay (I like the boots better - and they look more comfy). I think since she moved back to London, she's developed a personal style that really works for her. Now about this Matt guy...I'm no body language expert, but they don't look too lovey-dovey in this photo (and Matt, get off the phone!). Not only was she finally awarded custody of foster son David Banda, it was recently announced that the pop princess (and author and movie star) is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March (she is and the Beastie Boys aren't. Is there no justice in the world?). At least Madge will put on quite a show at the the ceremony, as she's still quite spry. She looks pretty good too - but she just might want to consider touching up the old roots pretty soon. I mean, she's 49, there's gotta be some gray hairs up there that need covering up!

Renaissance man (singer, DJ, author, fashion designer) Boy George, who has been staying under the radar awaiting trial on false imprisonment charges, made a rare appearance at the Serpentine Gallery in London's Hyde Park, which hosted a launch party for the new DKNY fragrance Night. George is a work of art himself, wearing black cropped pants, a jacket embellished with glittery skulls, peace signs and safety pins (I wonder if that's from his clothing line? If it is, maybe he should just stick to the music), grungy-looking sneakers and a jaunty red hat. I have no words.

Model and actress Elizabeth Hurley was on hand at a gala performance of the classic musical "Grease" in London. Liz was there to accept a check for over $1 million for cancer research. The cast and crew of the West End production donated $2 from every ticket sold to Macmillan Cancer Support. Cast members also subjected themselves to the humiliation of "The Weakest Link" (still on in England!) to raise additional funds. Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall (and wife of Prince Charles) was also on hand for the gala event. Liz, clad in a short metallic dress with matching pumps and purse, looks really good. Former "Destiny's Child" singer Kelly Rowland was there looking a lot like a gift bag (you know, with tissue paper coming out of the top - all of you lazy present wrappers know what I'm talking about). And, what's with the shoes? They look a size or so too big (guess she really liked them and the store didn't have her size. It's happened before.) Madame Tussaud's famed wax museum proudly displayed its latest celebrity statue last night, the incredibly life-like Nicolas Cage. Actually that is Nicolas Cage, dressed in a classic dark suit, at the premiere of his latest flick, "National Treasure: Book of Secrets." The red carpet at New York's Zigfeld Theater was packed with stars from the action flick, including Jon Voight, Ed Harris, Justin Bartha and Diane Kruger, looking radiant in a flowing orange gown. Other stars in attendance included "Little Miss Sunshine" Abagail Breslin and Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter.
The film is Nic's first sequel, and he's hoping to continue the franchise, making it "International Treasure" the next time around. Just keep him busy so we don't have to see "Ghost Rider 2!"

"National" Man of Mystery.
The Spice Girls arrived back in their homeland yesterday on their own Virgin Atlantic 747, creatively named "Spice One." The gals showed no signs of jet lag at a promotional appearance with Sir Richard Branson, opening a new Virgin Atlantic terminal at London's Heathrow Airport (and not playing some game show, as this photo suggests). Poor Baby Spice, Emma Bunton, is still on crutches after suffering a leg injury earlier this week. The Spicy ones had to cancel a television appearance and it's still not been confirmed if she's going to be able to take the stage tomorrow night at London's O2 Arena for their gig - maybe Branson could take her place ("Crazy Billionaire Spice")?
