British model/author/gal about town Katie Price (a.k.a. Jordan) helped little sis Sophie celebrate her birthday in London last night - by completely stealing the spotlight from her. Katie delighted fans and photogs alike by showing them her custom-made panties, embellished in rhinestones with "Mrs. Andre" - just in case anyone still was not aware that she was married to singer/reality show co-star Peter Andre.

Ahhh...Jordan, always a class act.

Peneople Cruz dazzled in a blue strapless gown at last night's Queen Sophia Spanish Institute Gold Medal Gala in New York. The actress (and director Pedro Almodovar's muse) received a gold medal for her work in Spanish cinema, contributing to improved Spanish-American relations. Also receiving an award at the ceremony was former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton quipped that he wasn't sure why he was being honored. He said, "It may be because even though I'm not of Spanish descent, I've seen all of Penelope Cruz's movies - and I liked them all." Oh Bill, you sly fox, you!

Here's a face we haven't seen much of lately, actor Jude Law. He was spotted today sporting a very short, closely cropped haircut. He was in London's Borough Market working on a unique project - a "real time movie" directed by a Polish artist. This movie involves no film; Jude accompanied by some "choerographed characters" and a group of extras simply strolled through the market and took part in a 30 minute "re-enactment."

This event is part of an exhibit at Britain's Tate Modern Museum called "The World is a Stage." With the crush of photographers present to see Jude "re-enact," it's kind of true, isn't it?

The best thing to come out of Ben Affleck, his daughter Violet, visited a Central Park playground with mom Jennifer Garner. The cutie will celebrate her second birthday on Saturday. Mama Jen went back to work yesterday playing Roxanne to Kevin Kline's "Cyrano de Bergerac" on Broadway. Her latest film, "Juno" co-starring "Arrested Development" alums Michael Cera and Jason Bateman, hits theaters (in limited release) next Friday.

That Violet is so cute, we just might be able to forgive Ben for "Gigli!" Well...maybe not..."Jersey Girl" perhaps, but not "Gigli." 

If you guessed legendary supermodel Beverly Johnson, you're right. If you guessed Black Eyed Pea Fergie, you're also right. Both were in NYC to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the world-famous Wilhelmina modeling agency. (The president of the agency is Sean Patterson, Fergie's manager.) Fergie has found that working with Wilhelmina has its privileges - hunky model Alex Lundquist plays her boyfriend in her new video for "Clumsy" (and real-life beau Josh Duhamel is nothing to sneeze at either, for that matter.)  

Beverly makes Fergie look like a pea pod. She's 55, can you believe that?

Katherine Heigl and her fiancee Josh Kelly made a pit stop at a Los Feliz, California health food store. The pair chugged shots of wheatgrass and ginger and bought a bunch of vitamins and supplements, including an "internal cleanse" product. (You probably didn't need to know that.) Kat picked up a smoothie as well before the pair met up with Mom for a lunch date. 

The "Grey's Anatomy" star, who turned 29 on Saturday, is never seen in public without a cigarette; could she be turning over a new leaf?  

The mass exodus of celebrities from L.A. continues! "Scrubs" star Zach Braff was spotted at LAX yesterday, off to points unknown. Zach finished shooting episodes for the final season of "Scrubs" on Monday. The fate of the remaining six episodes (including the series finale) is up in the air due to the ongoing writers' strike. Well, at least Zach will get a nice, long holiday break.  

And see? Even celebs have to take their shoes off at security!

SNL alum and all-around funnyman Will Ferrell was seen saying goodbye to family and friends as he arrived at LAX yesterday. Will was rocking the tube socks, which complemented (?) his shorts and ankle boots. You may want to cut him a little slack however; Will's probably still "in character" - he plays a 70s era basketball player in the upcoming "Semi-Pro," co-starring Woody Harrelson and Will Arnett.

Hey, it could be worse...he could have been wearing those 1970s basketball short-shorts as well!

Zac Efron was seen dashing out of his L.A. apartment yesterday in his trademark athletic gear and ponytail (time to cut those bangs, perhaps?) Zac is one busy boy. In addition to "High School Musical 3", he will star in "Seventeen", where he plays a man who wakes up only to discover that he is a teenager again. The adult version of Zac will be played by Matthew Perry.

Haven't we already seen this movie? "Big", "18 Again", "13 Going on 30"? Zac's fans would watch him read the newspaper! 

Kelly Osbourne spent a night on the town in London with her new beau. The new man in her life (seen behind her) is Matt "Bam Bam" Emerson, drummer for rock band Trash Fashion. The pair hit the trendy new club Dolce and later were seen at Groucho and Bungalow 8 with Kelly's pal, Kimberly Stewart. Kelly, who injured her back earlier this month, most recently appeared in the West End production of the musical "Chicago" playing Mama Morton (the role played by Queen Latifah in the film.)

Kelly loves those rocker boys, doesn't she?  Guess she, like all girls, wants a guy just like Dad! 

Dr. Troy himself, "Nip/Tuck" star Julian McMahon was at LAX on the way out of town with his family, including his 7-year-old daughter Madison and a lot of luggage. Guess the writers' strike has given him the opportunity to take an extended vacation.

Looks like Julian had a very satisfying Thanksgiving, he's looking a little stuffed himself!

"Dancing with the Stars" winner Helio Castroneves packed up his dancing shoes and boogied to LaGuardia airport today for a flight. The two-time Indy 500 champion signed autographs and smiled for photographers. Also at the airport was Helio's partner Julianne Hough and her brother Derek, who was Jennie Garth's partner for the competition.

Hmmm...Julianne and Helio at the airport together. Helio just broke up with his fiancee. Could the rumors of a love connection be true?

Since it's been...oh, a day or two since Lindsay has popped up here, it's probably time for an update. Our girl Linds is getting back in front of the camera and she's not the least bit happy about it. Her deposition in a lawsuit against her is going to be videotaped and her "people" fear it could land in the wrong hands. The case stems from an October, 2005 incident where LaLohan, allegedly drunk, crashed her Mercedes into a minivan. The deposition is scheduled for December 3rd.

Oh, and speaking of wrecks, Lindsay is planning to release another album and, according to Papa Michael, she is "in talks" to duet with 50 Cent. Yikes.

Walgreen's favorite customer, Shia LaBeouf, takes a break from shooting his latest film "Eagle Eye" at LAX. Shia reunites with his "Disturbia" director, D.J. Caruso, for this thriller where he plays a slacker who gets tied up in a terrorist cell planning a political assassination. Michelle Monaghan and Billy Bob Thornton co-star.   

Gee, Los Angeles is one big movie set, isn't it? And shooting movies at the airport - like security there isn't slow enough already!

 

"My Name is Earl"'s Jaime Pressly was spotted in Beverly Hills yesterday. She did a little Christmas shopping at Dior and picked up a pair of Uggs (are those still considered trendy?) Jaime also touched up her winter tan (well, it is California) at the popular Kevin Josephson salon.

The Emmy-winning actress and new mom doesn't really need to shop for gifts - she can give everyone on her list items from her J'aime clothing line!

As if we needed an excuse to post a photo of the devilishly handsome Daniel Craig, the latest actor to portray super spy James Bond, was a winner at last night's British Independent Film Awards. Daniel was the recipient of the Variety (as in the Hollywood trade magazine) Award. The award salutes actors for raising the profile of British films in the international spotlight. Previous winners include Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley and the (equally dreamy) Ewan McGregor.

Daniel's gearing up for the next Bond film, and we're hoping it includes another swimsuit scene!  

If they ever decide to do a remake of "The Seven Year Itch" (and I hope they never do!), Sarah Jessica Parker can step right into Marilyn's shoes. The actress was filming a scene on location at the NYC public library and was not only experiencing this "wardrobe malfunction," but was also having a hard time holding onto her hat. The "Sex"-y ladies have been filming all around the Big Apple for the much anticpated film, scheduled for release in May of '08.

It's a good thing this story didn't involve Kim Cattrall, it's doubtful that Samantha wears underpants!

Actor (and possible Rihanna beau?) Josh Hartnett was less then thrilled to see the paparazzi at LAX today, but he was decked out with a look right out of the "Hipsters Handbook." Knit cap? Check. Faux frames? Check. Scruffy facial hair? Check. Baggy jeans? Check.

Up next for Josh is the drama "The End Zone" where he tackles the role of a famous football player reluctant to bask in his stardom. (Tackles! Get it?)

King Kong's former squeeze, Naomi Watts, is in Milan, Italy, working on her latest project, "The Internationals." The thriller deals with an Interpol agent working to connect a high-profile financial institution to an international arms dealing ring. Naomi's next project is "Angels and Demons", the prequel to "The DaVinci Code."

Sitting with Naomi is her co-star Clive Owen - who made English history sexy with his portrayal of Sir Walter Raleigh in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age." Makes you long for a 360-degree view, doesn't it?

Today we see funnyman Seth Rogen shopping in West Hollywood with his longtime girlfriend (they've been together 2 years, which is an eternity in Tinseltown.) Seth has recently irked comic book fans with the announcement that he was taking the lead role in the big screen adaptation of "The Green Hornet" and delighted Kevin Smith fans by signing on for Silent Bob's next project, the intriguingly titled "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."

It's odd to see a normal-looking couple shopping in WeHo sans frappucinos, isn't it?

"Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively steals a kiss from co-star Penn Badgley on a New York street. Has real love come to the show? Nope, this photo was taken on the set, while the cast and crew of the CW hit were filming a scene for an upcoming episode.

Although, the pair did look quite chummy on an appearance on "The View" last week, where Blake said the show generated a sense of "heightened reality" to attract its audience. What's more "heightened" than co-stars in love?

Lovely, lanky actress Uma Thurman was a busy girl last night in New York. She attended the Gotham Awards, saluting accomplishment in independent film and then rushed across town to present the prestigious Trophee des Arts to director James Ivory who, with the late Ismail Merchant, brough us such classic films as "Room with a View" and "Howard's End." The award is given to artists who have promoted understanding between the French and American peoples.  

The French honor directors of substance, we give a disco ball to a race car driver for his ballroom dancing skills. Go figure!

"Heroes" indestructible cheerleader, Hayden Panettiere isn't resistant to parking tickets, so she made sure to laod up this L.A. parking meter with plenty of change before heading to Starbucks for a frap (because she's young, she's famous, and in L.A. it's the law.)

Hayden, who in a recent interview said she planned to be "boring" will have plenty of time to do so, as the season finale for her show airs Monday, December 3.

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart waves to photographers in New York City on Tuesday. Jon's found himself with a lot of free time on his hands, thanks to the ongoing writers' strike - now in it's fourth week - which has kept the "Daily Show" stage dark. Where can one go for fake news now?

I don't know about you, but I miss Jon - pay the writers already!

Photogs spotted soul songstress Amy Winehouse getting a news fix after her gig at the Brighton Centre. The benevolent paparazzi even gave Amy money to buy the papers (as she didn't have any change in her beehive - that's used to hold other things.)

The Brighton show was the last for the singer (at least for a while), as she canceled the rest of her tour in the U.K. Amy issued a statement on her website saying that she couldn't perform at her best while hubby Blake Fielder-Civil was in jail (what about all of those appearances before he went to jail?)     

Nicole Kidman sparkled in a cream-colored, pleated Balenciaga dress at the UK premiere of her new film "The Golden Compass" at London's Odeon Leicester Square last night. It was a homecoming of sorts for Kidman as she and her ex, Tom Cruise, once had a home in England. Kidman's current hubby, country singer Keith Urban was on hand for the premiere.

The controversial film, adapted from the novel by Phillip Pullman also stars Daniel Craig and was directed by Chris Weitz (who directed "About a Boy" and co-directed "American Pie" with his brother Paul.) Early reports indicate no pastries were harmed on the set of this film. 

The always eclectic, sometimes fashionable Johnny Depp was seen fighting the London chill wrapped in a scarf, a long coat and a fedora. The actor has been spotted in jolly old England doing some Christmas shopping with his friend and favorite director, Tim Burton (talk about an odd couple!) The pair shopped in what can only be described as "nerd paradise" - a store caled Forbidden Planet, selling sci-fi movie and gaming paraphernalia - and picked up some Dr. Who and Star Wars toys.

Depp already got a present for longtime gal-pal Vanessa Paradis - a vineyard near their villa in the south of France. I'd take that over a stuffed Yoda any day!

The red carpet was rolled out in the Big Apple on Monday for the premiere of the new indie flick "The Savages." The film, directed by Tamara Jenkins ("Slums of Beverly Hills") is a dark comedy telling the story of a brother and sister (Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney) who must take care of their estranged father, who is battling Alzheimer's, after the death of their mother. Yes, your fun-time holiday, warm and fuzzy kind of movie.

But hey, don't hassle the Hoff-man! His performance in the film earned him a best actor nomination for the Independent Spirit Awards.

Don't adjust your computer screen - that isn't actually Victoria Beckham, but look-a-like Camilla Shadbolt.  Camilla was in Australia (where Posh's hubby David is in town for an exhibition soccer match) to help launch a new entertainment website. Her appearance got as much media attention as David's promotional appearances, which proves that the US isn't alone in its indifference towards soccer.

Unlike the real Posh, you can have Camilla turn up at parites, weddings, bat mitzvahs or even the opening of an envelope.

The Christmas shopping season is upon us and it's in full swing in "shopaholic central," Los Angeles. Today's intrepid consumer is former "O.C." star Rachel Bilson. Could she be looking for the perfect gift for rumored love interest Hayden Christiansen? No sign of the actor here - Rachel's cute n' fuzzy mutt, Thurman Murman, was her date on this shopping adventure.

Photogs spotted former "Veronica Mars," current "Hero" Kristin Bell strolling through her neighborhood on Monday with her actual, non-celebrity friends (and a very un-famous, normal people-sized pooch.)

Could this be a new, disturbing trend? Stay tuned....

U.S. soccer star (and recent import) David Beckham continued to entertain Austrailian audiences with a promotional appearance on a pontoon set up in the middle of Sydney Harbor. With the famous Opera House in the background, Becks showed off his skills with the soccer ball (and showed no signs of injuries that have plagued him in his debut season with the L.A. Galaxy.) While a whiz with the round ball, David had a bit of trouble scoring goals with the more oval-shaped balls used for rugby and Austrailan rules football.  

Well, if the whole soccer thing doesn't work out, Becks can try his hand as a circus seal!

Actress Rebecca "Quit Calling her the Noxema Girl" Gayheart and her husband, "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane arrived at LAX on Sunday with Rebecca's Maltese pooch Teacup in tow. The actress, most recently seen on "Ugly Betty," was attired in a stylish white coat and jeans, while Eric was left holding the dog (in a designer carrier, of course!)

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld took the promotional tour of his animated feature "Bee Movie" to Israel on Friday (after the promo overload on NBC, many of us aren't sad to see him go!) Jerry, seen here adjusting his yarmulke at the historic Wailing Wall on Saturday, also met with the Israeli prime minister and President Shimon Peres, who was a fan of his NBC sitcom. Jerry was treated like royalty during his stay, which also included a visit to the Israeli holocaust memorial Yad Vashem and a (mandatory) press conference.

The comic has not visited the Holy Land since 1971, when he volunteered on a kibbutz collective farm.

Amy Winehouse stepped out for a little fresh air late Saturday night, after a disastrous gig at London's Hammersmith Apollo. The singer was confused and disoriented as she exited her hotel and attempted to get into two different cars before being ushered back inside by her security team. As she tried to avoid the paparazzi, Amy dropped a hand-rolled cigarette of unknown origin.

During Saturday's show, the chanteuse was booed after showing up 45 minutes late. She appeared out of it and almost lost her trademark beehive onstage. She walked off the stage in the middle of an encore, leaving a background vocalist to finish her set. Yikes. Her jailbird hubby wants her to go to rehab but she just says "no, no, no."   

Lindsay Lohan did the "family thing" for Thanksgiving and headed home yesterday. The actress was spotted at New York's JFK airport with boyfriend Riley Giles (peeking out from behind her)  - and an intrepid autograph hound. Not pictured: 9 bajillion shopping bags (she was in the Big Apple for "Black Friday", she'd never pass that up!) Mama Dina (also not pictured) dropped them off. 

Word on the street is that Linds and Riley's relationship could be on the rocks, as Riley's not thrilled about Lindsay's hectic California lifestyle. We'll keep you posted.

David Beckham arrived in Sydney, Austraila on Sunday for a press conference to promote a soccer match between the L.A. Galaxy and the Sydney Football Club scheduled for tomorrow evening. Becks, donning his L.A. Galaxy uniform, wooed the crowd at the Star City Casino in Sydney. Beckham love is strong in Austraila - 80,000 spectators are expected to attend Tuesday's match.

Becks and the Galaxy head to New Zealand later this week for another exhibition match on November 30.

Model/author/singer/Renaissance woman Katie Price (a.k.a. Jordan), a fixture in the British media, took her act to Dublin this past weekend, promoting the launch of her new perfume "Stunning" by appearing as a guest on Ireland's "Late Late Show."

Katie is known in America for her impressive figure and the short-lived reality show "Katie and Peter" on E! 

 

Meg Ryan, who's kept quite a low profile lately, popped up in Maui on Tuesday with her kids Jack and Daisy True (as well as the mandatory nanny.) The "Sleepless in Seattle" actress was caught heading to an organic grocery store. Is it a Tofurky Thanksgiving for the Ryan clan?

Meg's rumored new squeeze, Matthew Perry, didn't make the island jaunt with her.  

America's favorite shopaholic is at it again! Lindsay Lohan is spending her Thanksgiving break doing what she does best. Linds was spotted browsing the racks at trendy boutique Kirna Zabete in the heart of NYC on Wednesday. Her shopping companion was her mother, Dina. Lindsay also did lunch with her former "Mom-ager" at legendary west Village eatery Da Silvano's.

Must be nice not to have to wait until "Black Friday" to do a little shopping! Right, Lindsay?

"Private Practice" star Kate Walsh and her handsome hubby, 20th Century Fox film exec Alex Young trade potatoes for poi as they celebate Thanksgiving in Hawaii. The pair were spotted enjoying the sun and surf on Thursday. The 40-year-old actress (and newlywed) said in a recent interview that balancing her show and her marriage was challenging, but with the writer's strike keeping her off the set, she's got plenty of time to stop and smell the Kona.

Former Culture Club frontman Boy George appeared in a London courthouse on Thursday facing charges that he allegedly false imprisoned a male escort in his east London home back in late April. 47-year-old George (a boy no more!) chained the 28-year old to the wall. Did he really wanted to hurt him? The court appearance was brief, and George spoke very little - only confirming his name and date of birth. He also had no comment to the throngs of photographers gathered outside of the courtroom.

George's trial is set for February 25. It's too bad his August NYC street sweeping duty did nothing to clean up his act!

Debra Messing arrived at LAX on Sunday with her 3-year-old son Roman and was dressed for comfort in a huge muumuu. The "Starter Wife" star is laying low, having completed work on the remake of the classic George Cukor film, "The Women" (Debra is taking on the role of Sylvia Fowler, made famous by Rosailnd Russell.)

"Idol" alumni Carrie Underwood was a big winner at Sunday’s American Music Awards, held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater. The country crooner took home three awards; one for Favorite Country Female, Favorite Country Album for “Some Hearts” and a special T-Mobile “text-in” award. Fellow former "Idol" runner-up Chris Daughtry was also a big winner, with three awards, including Breakthrough Artist.

Beyonce Knowles took home a special prize, The International Artist Award of Excellence (previous winners included Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson and the Bee Gees.) She holds the distinction of being the first female artist to take home the prize. 

Handsome Aussie actor Heath Ledger was spotted heading to his SoHo digs on Monday wearing a purple knit cap which perfectly matched his umbrella. Heath's fall ensemble was topped off with some red and black striped gloves that would make a great accessory for his role as supervillain the Joker in the upcoming Batman installment "The Dark Night."

Actress Lindsay Price ("Beverly Hills 90210") has her hands full while shooting a scene for the upcoming TV series "Lipstick Jungle" in New York's Lower East Side on Monday. The series is based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, who was the inspiration for "Sex and the City."  Price plays fashion designer Victory Ford. Joining Lindsay in the "Jungle" are Kim Raver ("24") and Brooke Shields.

"Lipstick Jungle" debuts on NBC in January.

Model/actress Milla Jovovich and her fiancee, director Paul W.S. Anderson ("Resident Evil", not "Boogie Nights") were spotted Monday at a Los Angeles doctor's office with their newborn daughter Ever, who was born on November 3rd. After the check-up, Ever got a little more fresh air during a walk with her grandparents.

Mama Milla's next project is the Paul Verhoeven thriller "Azazel", which begins shooting in February. Papa Paul's remake of the cult classic "Death Race" hits theaters in 2008. 

Rihanna, your choice as Favorite R&B Female Artist at last night's American Music Awards, was seen strolling down Melrose Avenue and peeking into some of the street's trendiest boutiques, including Fred Segal, on Saturday with her entourage in tow. The "Umbrella" singer was clad in a red tank, dark pants, gold pumps and (occasionally) a really cute hat. She and her crew also hit the GAP at the trendy Grove Mall as well as a tattoo parlor. Rhianna didn't buy much - she seemed a little more interested in the mystery man who accompanied her during her shopping expedition. A diva who's not really into shopping? Do we need to call out an "S.O.S.?"

It's Thanksgiving week, so that means there's just as good of a chance of spotting a celebrity at LAX as there is finding one at the Ivy or Hyde. "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller decided to take a break of his own. Miller was recently voted by the readers of Entertainment Weekly magazine as the number one "Hottie" of all time (followed by the hunk-a-licious Christian Bale.) Surprisingly enough, Miller was nowhere to be found on People's "Sexiest Men Alive" list. Conspiracy?

As the week wears on, expect more celeb sightings on the moving sidewalk, rather than on the red carpet.   

Actress/singer/Chanel spokeswoman Nicole Kidman showed up at the New South Wales Supreme Court today to testify in the case of a photographer suing an Austrailan newpaper for defamation of character. The star of such hits as "Moulin Rouge" and the upcoming "Golden Compass" said that she was left "in tears and distressed" following a 2005 car chase, during which photographer Jamie Fawcett followed Kidman in his car in order to get images for the Sydney Sun-Times.

The newspaper has already been found guilty of defamation. This hearing was to determine what, if any, damages should be paid to Fawcett by Fairfax Media, the publisher of the newspaper. Kidman was called to testify by the publisher in order to prove that the description of Fawcett that appeared in a Sun-Times article criticizing Fawcett was accurate.

"High School Musical" stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were off to work out at a North Hollywood heath club Saturday morning. With "HSM 3" going into production soon, it's important that these gals stay in shape!

Despite the fact that Ash and Vanessa are on-screen enemies, the pair are real-life BFFs. They were spotted frolicking around Studio City, dining at trendy eatery Jinky's Cafe and taking in frapps at the (mandatory) coffee establishment. According to Vanessa's web site, she's participating in the "HSM" tour, which kicks off in December.  

Lindsay Lohan was spotted at LAX on Saturday with her bodyguard. La Lohan was winging her way to the Big Apple. After serving her grueling 84-minute sentence at Lynwood on Thursday, a vacation was obviously in order. She's most likely heading to NYC to indulge her newest addiction, shopping. She's swapping her trendy Robertson Street haunts - such as Kitson and the Grove for Madison Avenue retailers such as Dolce & Gabanna and Versace (she's also reportedly a big H&M fan.)

But, shopping aside, Lindsay is taking the trip is to spend Turkey Day with friends and, in the grand tradition of forgiveness that one learns in any 12-step program, to mend the relationship between she and her mother/former manager, Dina. It's going to be a nice, long weekend with plenty of time for both healing and shopping!
